Human Resource & Office Manager

Purpose

Sutin, Thayer & Browne APC is looking to hire a full-time Human Resource (HR) & Office Manager responsible for the management, oversight, and coordination of all administrative activities related to the Firm’s personnel, benefits programs, and office operations.

This position works closely with employees, attorneys, and senior-level management.

This is an exempt position.

Responsibilities

  • Essential functions as human resource manager includes, but is not limited to: planning, developing, and managing all human resource and benefit programs, including compensation; paid time off; health insurance, life & disability insurance, retirement planning, and all other benefits the Firm offers; coordinating and overseeing all recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and on-boarding efforts for new employees; processing terminations; conducting investigations; managing employee performance; ensuring Firm is in compliance with applicable state and federal employment and benefit laws; managing all legal staff; and providing candid advice to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Essential functions as office manager includes, but is not limited to: overseeing day-to-day office operations; managing support staff; coordinating essential services, such as repairs and maintenance; analyzing and implementing systems to maximize efficiency and productivity; overseeing departmental budget; ensuring invoices are processed timely; ensuring office supplies are properly stocked; establishing procedures for consistency and efficiency; overseeing office leases and communicating with property management; and providing Firm-wide communication about office events.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5 years working experience as a human resource generalist or similar role.
  • In addition, must have at least 3 years of experience in a management role.
  • Must be a conceptual thinker with exceptional organizational, analytical, conflict management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a willing, helpful, and professional attitude.
