Mariposa Padilla Sivage, one of our firm’s senior litigators, has been selected to join the prestigious Litigation Counsel of America as a Fellow.
The LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society offered to fewer than half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship is by invitation only. Fellows are selected for their excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and their superior ethical reputation.
Ms. Padilla Sivage represents public and private clients in civil and commercial litigation. She handles complex litigation involving construction claims, premises liability, civil rights, government defense, insurance, tort defense, prison liability, and probate and estate disputes. She practices extensively in federal and state courts throughout New Mexico, as well as before administrative tribunals. She has first-chair jury trial and non-jury trial experience. She has handled appeals for clients in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals as well as in the New Mexico Appellate Courts. She holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Ms. Padilla Sivage joined Sutin, Thayer & Browne in 2010 and was elected shareholder in 2014. She graduated magna cum laude in 2003 from the University of New Mexico School of Law in Albuquerque.
Ms. Padilla Sivage serves on our firm’s board of directors and on the State Bar of New Mexico Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession. She is active in the UNM law school’s Arthur Jaramillo Clerkship Program, designed for first-year law students of diverse backgrounds. She previously served for 10 years on the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association board of directors.
