Christopher A. Holland

 

CHRISTOPHER A. HOLLAND is a member of the firm’s litigation group where he represents corporate and institutional clients in commercial litigation, tax litigation, government contracts, employment law, and land use law. After clerking for two years for the Honorable Pamela B. Minzner, Supreme Court of New Mexico, Chris joined Sutin, Thayer & Browne in 1996. He left the firm in 2018 to serve as Chief Counsel of the New Mexico National Guard, a State organization comprising more than 3,500 service members and civilian employees. He advised the Commanding General and staffs on government contracts, employment and labor law, and state-federal relations. We welcomed him back to the firm in 2023.

Chris is a veteran of the Persian Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan wars, having served as a U.S. Army officer in the active and reserve components for almost four decades. From 2004 – 2005, he served as an Army JAG officer specializing in government contract law while deployed to Iraq.

Chris, rated an AV Preeminent practitioner through Martindale-Hubbell, has been recognized in various practice areas by Chambers USA, Southwest Super Lawyers, and Best Lawyers in America, who named him Albuquerque Lawyer of the Year in education law in 2016.
