Sutin Firm shareholder and board director Mariposa Padilla Sivage has been selected as a 2019 New Mexico Women of Influence award winner by Albuquerque Business First. Honorees are women in the community who have made a positive and lasting impact on New Mexico business.
Mariposa, a 16-year litigation attorney, has considerable experience representing governmental entities and public employees. She handles complex litigation involving prison liability, probate and estate disputes, construction claims, premises liability, civil rights, governmental defense, insurance and tort defense. Mariposa practices extensively in federal and state courts throughout New Mexico, as well as before administrative tribunals. She has first-chair jury trial and non-jury trial experience. She has handled appeals for clients in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals as well as in the New Mexico appellate courts.
Mariposa joined the firm in 2010 and quickly rose through the ranks. She became a shareholder in 2013 and a member of the firm’s board of directors in 2017. She holds a prestigious AV Preeminent peer-review ranking from Martindale-Hubbell and is a Fellow with Litigation Counsel of America.
