Maria Montoya Chavez Elected to Board of Directors

Sutin, Thayer & Browne law firm is pleased to announce that Maria Montoya Chavez has been elected to serve on its Board of Directors. Her duties include participation in matters of policy, objectives, compensation, finance, leadership and Firm performance. Ms. Montoya Chavez has practiced law with the Firm since 2000 and was elected a shareholder in 2008. She is a family law specialist certified by the State Bar of New Mexico. She focuses on divorce, child custody and time sharing, child support, alimony, the valuation and division of complex assets (professional practices and businesses) in a divorce context, same-sex couple adoptions, Hague Convention abduction cases, and interstate custody and child support jurisdiction. Ms. Montoya Chavez earned her law degree at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, and her undergraduate degree from The University of New Mexico.
